James Frith MP for Bury North Visits Wallwork HQ

At the end of April, Wallwork played host to Bury North Labour MP, James Frith, at our Bury headquarters. We are a major employer in the town, and nationally. With sites in Cambridge, Birmingham and Newcastle. We appreciate Mr Frith taking time from his busy schedule to see the new developments at Wallwork since his last visit.

“Mr Frith was particularly keen to know about the impact and recovery from Covid, and the new challenges the company faces. Global events being among them and domestic concerns such as British Steel. As a supporter of UK industry and jobs, Wallwork would very much like to see the continuation of British Steel. We wish the government success in this venture,” explained Wallwork director, James Bailey.

“At over 95,000 square feet, Wallwork Bury is the largest single-site heat treating facility in the UK. Providing national and international engineers in aerospace, autosports, medical device and other precision industries with a wide range of available treatments. Key to success is investment in jobs, with three new interns currently on-site. Mr Frith was interested to know how he could help, especially with youth employment. And also what impact changes in legislation were making,” added director, Luke Collins.

“In the time available, we were able to show James Frith the sealed quench and vacuum departments. He even had a go loading a furnace in the vacuum furnace hall. He welcomed the fact that the new 2,500 square metres HIP Centre, opened at the end of 2023, is proving such a success that a further state-of-the-art HIP installation is in progress. The £20 million investment made in this part of Bury, is cementing the future of Wallwork and job security in the town. James Frith MP, thank you for visiting us and listening,” James Bailey concluded.
